Exceptions to the Rules

There are exceptions to the rules, but I don't like any of them and I don't use any on my farm.  These are for extraordinary temporary circumstances and as far as I know are rarely used.

Temporary exceptions to the rules may be established under extreme circumstances. These may be natural disasters such as drought, windstorms, floods, excessive humidity, hail, tornados, earthquakes and fire.

There may also be exceptions when research is being carried out in organic farming and handling techniques, varieties or ingredients.

Any variances to the regulations must be recorded and certified.

So if you want to eat healthily, keep animals and wildlife happy, and fight against the destruction of the environment while you’re at it, it’s simple – eat organic!
